A British military Martini-Henry rifle, not de-activated, in good condition, marked Enfield 1877 Mark II, with a wide variety of issue marks, including one for the Cape (at some point it had been to southern Africa) and one for militia issue. Intriguingly, on the butt, where a regimental identification might be, it is marked 1/24, struck through (suggesting it was issued to the 1/24th, then written off). Unfortunately the style of mark is in a later font and not contemporary to the Anglo-Zulu War, and cannot therefore be taken at face value. A nice, interesting piece nonetheless.(Overseas buyers, please enquire before purchase for shipping cost)
