19th century Zulu dark-wood knobkerry with good patina, overall length 30 ins, one age crack to head commensurate with age. Mounted on the head of the ball is a metal plaque with the inscription 'ZULU WAR CLUB Kambula March 29 1879'. The battle of Khambula was the decisive battle of the war, the first major defeat for the Zulu army following its earlier victory at iSandlwana.
