Written in an easy journalistic style this is a complete history of the Zulu people from the time of King Shaka through to the political conflicts of the 1990s. Whilst it includes key elements from the rise and fall of the kingdom in the 19th century, including the conflict between King Dingane and the Boers and the British invasion of 1879, it is equally revealing on how things got from 'then' til 'now'; the struggles of successive post-invasion kings to re-establish their political power and influence in the face of rigorous colonial and apartheid domination. Hardback, the top page edges a little spotted, otherwise very good condition.
