JASON ASKEW is a South African-born artist currently living and working in the UK. Although he paints in various genres, from portraits to equestrian scenes and even Star Wars subjects, he is primarily known for his vivid battle paintings, both historical and contemporary, several of which are in Regimental collections. In 2005 he was the official war artist attached to the Staffordshire Regiment in Iraq. He has executed a number of private commissions on Anglo-Zulu War subjects, including a series for Dr Adrian Greaves of the Anglo-Zulu War Historical Society. The painting offered here is from that series.
