Regular price £750.00 Sale

The exceptionally rare 1881 first edition of the official history of the Anglo-Zulu War, the ‘Narrative of Field Operations Connected With The Zulu War of 1879’. This first edition was limited to only a few copies due to the controversies surrounding the war so soon after the event; it was not more widely circulated until the second edition of 1907. This copy bears the stamp of the Lanarkshire Engineer Volunteers, 20 March 1883. The pages are in very good condition but the book has been professionally rebound, and is lacking the map of the battlefield of iSandlwana; some of the remaining maps have minor damage to the creases and folds. Nonetheless a very nice copy of an exceptionally rare book.
