Mounted Photograph - 17th Lancers - Post Anglo-Zulu War

Mounted photograph (11x9 inches) featuring a nice group portrait of members of the 17th Lancers with three showing the Zulu War campaign medal ribbon on their uniforms. On the reverse is a smaller photograph wonderfully depicting an impressive tombstone with the 17th Lancers regimental badge on the top and inscribed to the "Sacred to the Memory of Troop Sergt Major Charles Ruth 17th (D.C.O.) Lancers". Additional photograph of two Indian attendants included on the same mounted page. A wonderful Victorian period military group portrait study. The bright discoloration seen on the mounting around the photographs is from the scanning, not present on the actual mounting card.
