This photograph features Drury Lowe who commanded the 17th Lancers during the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. He is seated on the ground, 8th from the right. A wonderful Victorian period military group portrait study. The bright discoloration seen on the mounting around the photograph is from the scanning, not present on the actual mounting card.
