An excellent late 19th/early 20th C. Zulu status staff, made of the usual two-tone hardwood and finely carved to resemble a spear. Overall length 51 inches, very good condition, excellent patina. These staffs were carried by men of authority on ceremonial occasions when the carrying of weapons was considered inappropriate.
