Attractive Zulu shield, the real thing, but not 1879 vintage - perhaps mid-20th century, in good solid condition. Shield size 27 x 15 ins, stick 50 ins. In 1879 this colour (white with red spots) was associated with the uThulwana ibutho, who fought at Rorke's Drift. A very impressive display piece.
