An interesting Zulu knobkerry with the head carved and coloured to represent a man's head, complete with a large boil of the face! The handle is decorated with several bands of 'telephone wire', and the piece has enough weight to be used as a practical weapon for self-defence as well as a piece of art. Probably dates to the end of the twentieth-century, an unusual and very decorative piece.
