An original CDV photograph of Prince Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, the Prince Imperial of France, who was killed in action in Zululand on 1 June 1879. The portrait shows the Prince in court dress, and is dated 16 March 1874, the date of his eighteenth birthday. The backing is from the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company. A good clear image with only a few light spots.
