Large (16 x 12 ins) page from an original photo album with one Anglo-Zulu War image on one side, and two on the other. One image shows the battlefield of Nyezane - fought on the same day as iSandlwana - with the graves of the British dead marked by a cross that was fashioned by members of the Eshowe garrison during the siege. image size is 8 x 5 ins.
On the reverse there are two photographs, including one of the most historic photographs from the war - a company of the 99th Regiment (not Buffs as labelled in the caption here) - crossing the Thukela river on the day the British invasion began.
Also included is the famous photograph of the battlefield of iSandlwana taken in June 1879, and showing a variety of human and animal skeletons clearly visible on the site.
