SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL BAR 1878; Private Jacob, 2nd Komgha Fingo Levy
Raised among the pro-Colonial amaMfengu people – ‘Fingoes’ – the Khomga Levy took part in the 9th Cape Frontier War against the Xhosa people (1877-78), and is one of the few units to whom individual auxiliary members were named on the medal. Five privates named Jacob are confirmed on the Forsyth medal roll. Some slight tarnishing and wear to the ribbon, otherwise very good condition.
