SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL BAR 1879; Private John Scanlon, Army Service Corps
The Army Service Corps provided the Other Ranks for commissariat and transport duties and were commanded by officers of the Commissariat Department. Detachments of ASC personnel were scattered across the various fronts throughout the invasion of Zululand, particularly during the Second Invasion; Pte J. Scanlan (sic) is confirmed in the ASC Transport section on Forsyth's medal roll. Good condition with only very slight knocks to edges.
