Henry Curling served as a lieutenant in N/5 Battery Royal Artillery during the 9th Cape Frontier and Anglo-Zulu Wars, and was one of the few Imperial officers to survive iSandlwana. He wrote regular letters home to his family and taken together they provide an important source on the conduct of the campaigns. Hardback, illustrated, slight marks to dust-wrapper but otherwise very good condition.
